I’ve no experience using other paddles, so I can’t offer a comparative opinion. I’m indeed pleased with this Werner. It’s super light, feels and looks high quality. I would’ve gone full carbon, but for the fact all models are in black only. Being a wilderness paddler, I prefer something with color (yellow blades in my case) for visibility, both to be seen by others, or make it easier to find in the bush or water if it blows away. The blades seem strong, yet I’m cautious about shoving off rocks..hard to say how much force I can apply. I probably overpaid for this, as I couldn’t locate anything locally with the color / length combination I wanted. Oh well.

Maybe this is premature but I give this paddle TEN STARS! Granted, I am upgrading from a cheap, box store paddle. …I took it out for a few hours today. Wind gusts up to 21mph, crazy motor boaters everywhere. The wind and waves hardly slowed me down. I traversed twice my normal mileage with no fatigue at all. I will be able to explore much further 😀 I am easily able to keep up with every one else now too! This paddle is amazing! It is so lightweight, felt powerful and smooth cutting through the water. I truly felt like I was in a new kayak! I also didn’t get soaked like I did with my old paddle (drip guards and all). I’m in love ? Worth every penny!

I paddle with a group of experienced older paddlers who all enjoy top equipment. This paddle was the most comfortable one to use of all our paddles. Good for my wrist pain. Good for my friend’s shoulder pain. It is lighter and easier to pull and yet somehow efficient. I like the fact that it snaps into Right Left or Center. I use it for ocean touring and easily kept up with the paddlers whose paddles irritate my old injuries. The blue/green fish scales one wasn’t my taste online but it was beautiful on and in the water and coordinated the colors of my boat and PFD. Homerun! It was worth the price because it is a one time purchase that makes my sport so much more enjoyable. I’m glad every time I see it! It replaces a top paddle that got lost.

I was unhappy with the quality of the mechanism that attaches/ assembles the two halve of the paddle. The paddle is not even 2 years old and has been used maybe 10 times and the button is stuck. I returned the paddle to the manufacturer and they fixed it and sent it back at no charge. Unfortunate that it broke, but the customer service was good!!

I purchased this lightweight paddle to replace an older aluminum one, hoping that it would make my kayaking adventures more enjoyable. Amazingly light yet very strong, I now enjoy many hours at a time exploring local streams and rivers. Excellent product and well worth the money.

Everything it promises to be and more.This model (for my wife) is 10 years newer than my Camano. In that time, they’ve made the release button flush instead of proud… a nice little tweak.
