   Solid quality product which I liked so much it replaced other stainless steel shackles I had used.These 5/16″ shackles fit through US Stainless 1/4″ stainless steel chain and are a better match for it than the 1/4″ shackle, because they have a 1500 lb working load while the chain has 2000 lb working load (1/4″ shackle has 1000 lb working load).Prompt and accurate support from US Stainless for all my questions like what shackles fit through which chains that come up when trying to integrate a mooring solution out of their separate components.

   This device is versatile for anchor attachment or connecting sail halyards. I used this to reattach the clew of my mainsail to the rear of the boom. I think it has a 25 KN rating for stainless steel. No problems so far.

   The shackle looks sturdy, well made and finished. Can’t ask for more.
