This is a substandard product. I would not recommend these oars to anyone in any application. One came warped out of the box, and both are extremely flimsy. Save your money and a headache.

The oar broke the second time I used it. The last one I bought (exact same item) lasted for years, so this may have been a simple defect.

Item arrived damaged. The wood is ground down as it it had been dragged but shipping box seemed ok. I reported problem within minutes of receiving the oar. My return was approved but I need to pay for return shipping. That is poor customer service. The oar otherwise seemed ok.UPDATE: The seller got back and refunded the purchase price and said I do not need to return the oar. So in the end they did the right thing which is appreciated.

The discolored oar was replaced very quickly, by Amazon, with a new oar. The second oar had a very large knot near the blade end and I am very concerned as to itβs structural integrity. I spent a great deal of monies building this boat and had intended on applying many coats of high quality varnish over the oar, including whipping the areas that will be βoverβ where the oar locks contact the wood, finishing witness Turks head knots as stoppers. Receiving only one oar in acceptable condition makes me concerned about the other two bad oars. How many oars and loss of time will this take. Do Not buy oars/paddles from this company if you intend on applying a varnished finish…..
