This is a nice little battery charger. My first career a long time ago was as a GM-certified dealer auto mechanic, so I’ve got a lot of experience with battery chargers & automotive electrical. I’d give it 5 stars if it came with clamps to attach to battery. I got the clamps separately but paid extra, and they’re nice quality too, but at this price point the charger should come with clamps. It only comes with ring terminals that need to attach to the battery with bolts.Love being able to charge two batteries at once. The battery recovery function works well, but can only do so much. Batteries that have been sitting dead for a long time aren’t recoverable, but I’ve extended the life of a few batteries that I thought were gone. A nice feature I discovered is that if the battery or batteries are connected to the charger before you plug it in, it auto-recognizes the type of battery, so no pushing buttons needed. When the battery is charged it goes right to trickle charge mode, so you can leave it going for as long as you want and the battery will stay charged. I’ll definitely buy more NOCO chargers in the future.

I fish the Great Lakes where safety and preparedness are primary concerns. I run dual batteries separated by switch to provide starter/engine and house/electronics. I only tax the engine to recharge the 1st bank and I use a kicker motor which recharges neither bank. When I get home I used to have to open all of my battery access doors and attach external tenders to top off the batteries for my next excursion. The NOCO GEN5x2 allows me to easily attach shore power to both banks tending each bank independently overnight. The unit stays installed in the battery compartment and automatically functions when power is applied.

I installed the charger in my Barletta Tritoon. It was super simple and works as expected. I can’t say anything for longevity as I just installed it (first week of November). If anything changes I will update my review

First unit failed within 24hrs (both fuses repeatedly blow on bank-1), second unit working as expected after 1-week. The unit has a sturdy ‘marine’ feel to it, mounts easily, easy to read battery/charge state. The LEDs can be seen in full sun. I did a permanent install with the NOCO 3-prong pigtail, a game changer for weekend remote boat camping with a generator to charge batteries.
Jeff –
Installation was easy and works as described. I am not rating the longevity because I have only had this 2 weeks.
Nick –
Easy to install and keeps both batteries charged. Iβm using it for the boat for winter storage. I would purchase gator clips if you will be connecting and disconnecting often.

I have purchased both the 2X2 and the 5×2 to maintain the batteries in my motorhome while stored, my atv and for my tractor. The 5×2 is maintaining a four battery bank and a two battery bank in my motorhome with no problem at all. These units are supper easy to use and are capable of handling all of my different battery types. Super happy with them.
