C. Cornell –
This is really a very good product and it is very well made. As are most of Blue Sea’s products. I bought three of these to use on 2 battery banks I have in my stand alone solar powered system. I work as an installer so I use a lot of different products and I generally research every product I buy before purchasing it. This was by far the best available Busbar at this price point.I highly recommend using this busbar along with the protective casing that they sell for it. The busbar seats into the bottom half of the casing perfectly and easily, just by adding some pressure by hand. it has a snap in feature with an incredibly strong hold once inserted. The heavy duty plastic casing then fits over the bottom half and is attached with 4 very well built and very strong clasps. It takes a few seconds to simply unclasp the top housing, change or add your terminal rings and then reattach the clasps. Everything fits to exact tolerance. The bus bar itself is very hefty. It is rated upto 250 Amps of power. The terminal studs are excellent quality made. I use four of the studs to connect each of my four 105 AH batteries wires individually to this busbar, one busbar for Positive and another of the same bus bar for negative. I have attached my solar controller, a Samlex charger, and a Samlex true sine Inverter to the busbar as well.Using kill switches I now control the power flows precisely, and by wiring the batteries to these busbars instead of to each other in parallel, I now have a guaranteed current flow going through each battery evenly.. As the old way of wiring battery to battery to battery, connecting positive to positive, etc and the same with Negative, created an alternate”Pathway” for some of the power to bypass the batteries by flowing directly through the wires!! Wiring to two of these busbars eliminates the capacity losses I was getting. And yes, I wired in parallel and connected to top battery positive terminal and bottom battery negative terminal. This bus bar has a lot of room between the screw studs and this makes it much easier to make your connections.. The busbar comes with lock down rings and a very sturdy screw stud and nut. The plastic housing ( sold separately ) has easy to knock out access points for each terminal..So, I really recommend this Busbar very highly. It is very well made, very roomy to work with, and extremely well built. It handles the power I work with easily.

This is exactly what I was looking for as my negative buss bar. Like this one so much I am picking up another one to use as a positive mount. Very well made , 2 mounting points ..good seperation on the studs to fit multiple wire lugs and a nice secure cover to protect the bolt heads from the elements. Blue sea makes a great product

The part works as advertised with quality build. This is not a criticism, more of a wish, but I would love if the terminals were maybe larger and spaced a little more to allow for additional flexibility in configuration. But, I digress. It’s a great product and recommended for ease of install.

Needed another ground rail on my boat and this works well.

Great for using to house a DC shunt to protect from accidental arching

Does what itβs supposed to do!
Randall –
does what I want it to, the plastic cover is a little flimsy and breaks easily if you are not too careful.

The Victron BMV-712 was looking a little vulnerable behind the back seat of my truck, so I started looking for a cover for it. Came across a video showing this Blue Sea Systems BusBar cover used for the same shunt. Looks very clean! Now I don’t have to worry about breaking the shunt’s exposed circuit board when folding my seat back. The cover has plastic knock outs to accommodate varying cable sizes. I just wiggled the two end pieces back and forth until they separated and then it was a perfect fit. If my shunt was mounted on a wall, I probably wouldn’t bother covering it. It’s an expensive piece of plastic, but it fit my needs perfectly and Victron does not make a cover for it. Hope this helps someone else.
