   My seats just arrived and I could not be more happy.In my opinion the Amazon description is somewhat lacking so I thought I would try and fill in some of the gaps that bothered me before my purchase. Here’s my initial review…1. The seats as they arrived are not as pictured. (close but not exact) My first picture if of what the seller says they look like, The second picture is how they are made now.. Note there have been some design changes over the years.2. The seat is extremely well made. Seat is rated for 400 lbs. Though that may not be a consideration for most, think about it from the standpoint of slamming over waves in a ruff sea or being on a pedestal and getting caught by a large wake. Nice to have a strong structure supporting you. The “sunbrella” type fabric has a nice open weave for breathability and it is well riveted to the frame.3. one change of note is the Amazon picture of the seat has the back straps mounting to the top side of the seat frame. On the newer design it is bolted to the side of the frame. Now, take note of what I said… “BOLTED”.. Yes if the strap ever frayed or is accidently damaged, instead of having to replace the $80 seat, you replace a $2 strap. :-)4. The seat mount appears to be a 5″ square pattern.. see pictures but that’s pretty close..5. The cross member support tubes are also bolted to the frame.6. One reviewer here on Amazon took off a 1 star because the seats did not come with a closed down lock or strap. Well I guess they listened because my seats now come with seat closure snap straps.7. The seats come with mounting hardware. :-)I added a few additional pictures to show the quality of the welds and the overall quality of the construction. I did notice that the mount and seat are separate parts bolted together with nylon locking nuts. Great design and super easy to seperate for those that might have a difficult installation location.***** Hope this additional information is helpful. ****This review is my opinion only and I have not been compensated in any way by Amazon or the seat manufacturer.Thanks for reading my review.ADDED: Attwood 17720 Boat Seat Swivel Fits perfectly with the bolt pattern. 5″x5″ pattern.

   My husband wasn’t really ‘on board’ with these seats at first. However, with the grwat reviews, I took a chance & ordered them anyway. Believe the hype, because these seats are sturdy & incredibly comfortable! Anything would have honestly been better than what we had, but these are even more of an improvement than I expected. Well worth the expense. They also did fit on the brackets we already had on our aluminum boat, so even better!

   I think this is the most comfortable boat seat I’ve ever used. My only hesitation is that I only got to use it 5 or 6 times before it broke. I bought two seats so I still have one to use but I’ll have to put my old plastic seat back in for my guest fishing buddies. I’m goin to try and replace the broken rivet with a bolt but I don’t know if it will work yet.

   Very comfortable! Doesn’t matter if your sitting for an hour or for a day I haven’t got uncomfortable in this seat.

   These are the most comfortable seats I’ve ever had ina boat. The design is perfect for boat seats as water drains through quickly and they are dry. I have two Millennium hunting tree stands with similar seating material. They have been in the woods exposed to the elements for 10 years. They still look new and perform as new. I have no doubt these boat seats will hold up just as well.
