So far so good. I tried a nylon strap and the material stretched around the snap and made it unusable. This one has held up for a couple months. I have found that the best way to deploy handcuffs is to bring your thumb down on top of the snap to undo it wile grabbing the cuffs. the last strap I bought said to pull the cuffs up to break the snap. That really doesn’t work, but with practice, pushing down with your thumb works great. I don’t advise putting it on the back of your belt. My coworker has one, and he’s always loosing his cuffs and doesn’t realize it. It will catch on the back of chairs, or just unsnap if it’s not snapped properly and he won’t see the cuffs fall. Being able to see them and check them frequently is good. I’ve only had mine come unsnapped when I”m doing really physical stuff like loading a dead animal in a truck (game warden). If they fall off when I’m doing that, I just put them in my pocket until I’m done.

This strap allows me to carry on my person, an extra pair of cuffs or shackles. I even used it today to hold my cuffs and a belly chain. I put the shackles in my back pocket. This is a good product. I transport inmates and it’s good to always keep restrains on your person. Which this strap allows me to do comfortably. Of course you can just carry your stuff in your pocket but that is uncomfortable. This looks way more professional and it is just a good buy.

I suspect a lot of the negative reviews on this are from people not know how to use it. The snap that holds the handcuffs only open if you unsnap it by pulling down on the top of it – so there is no way that the handcuffs pushing up on the snap could open it.But – I put this holder on the front of my duty belt and my outer vest pushes down on the snap form above and opens it. Had to send it back.I’d stick to a standard handcuff pouch unless I didn’t have enough space on my duty belt.

Could be cheaper. Also the button take a while to clasp. After a few uses unnoticed the button is easier to use now. All in all I believe it is overpriced but it works as expected.
